Ofloxacin Tablet is an antibiotic which is used for the treatment of pneumonia, UTI, & plague. The active compound of this medicine has chemical formula C18H20FN3O4 with a molecular weight of 361.368 g/mol. It works by inhibiting the function of DNA gyrase which is required to separate bacterial DNA thus causes their death. This tablet has a bioavailability of about 85 to 95% with an elimination half-life of 8 to 9 hours. Presence of ornidazole in this medicine provides the ability to treat certain protozoan infections as well. Ofloxacin Tablet belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of medication and shows protein binding ability of about 32% with a targeted mode of action.
